heard Mattie Mcgrath on radio yesterday sticking up for coursing and hunting.

He was here with me today, I went to him the time they tried to pass the bill banning terriers to ground. He spent a lot of time listening and voiced his opinion on the matter at a higher level. He is

At the end of the day most of us hate politics, myself included, it's the same old bullshit either way. But, they work for us, not the other way around, so it's no harm to let them know that if they

Green Party lol, I'm more interested in what they will leave in my pocket, I,ll hunt on regardless of weather they approve or not. They will all go with what is politically correct and side with the media and the masses like they all did with the gay referendum, gutless pricks.

Should be an interesting topic which political party is more likely to keep hunting and digging legal if we vote for them? I couldn't care less about any particular party but would vote for whoever is on our side.

They'll be knocking at your door so ask them.

Don't go into detail about terriers etc. as they don't give a shit but let them know that you're a hunter and it will play a big part on your decision.

I always do, but then again I live in an area where hunting has been most effected by politician ie. the Green Party been used as muppets by Fianna Fail.

We sat in a local politicians office for an hour one day (after picketing outside) and he told us that he would NOT be voting for a ban on stag hunting.

Thomas Byrne is his name.He voted FOR a ban. The next time elections arose he knocked at my door. I looked him up and down and he just said "another hunter" and walked away.

In my own area ,Meath ,I'll be giving my vote to Helen McEntee ,FG, as her father Shane, R.I.P., was very instrumental in saving terrierwork in Eire as he got ordinary decent terriermen, myself included, into the Dail ,sat us at a table with the ministry of agriculture and ensured us terrierwork was safe after Minister Coveneys remarks that he'd be banning terrierwork.

We took his word and he stood by it. A good man.

The ICABS website http://banbloodsports.com/latest.htm will no doubt put up a list of those running who are ANTI so vote accordingly.

I heard good things about Shane mcEntee when he was alive a huge lose to any form of hunting as support.

Just dig a mass grave and bury all politicans in it none of them any good.

I see where your coming from chesney but we need to chose the lesser of two evils I'm just asking opinions that's all it would be interesting to hear British opinions too I'm sure they got sold out by one or two politicians as well I would be gutted if I voted for a party or a particular candidate and found out after they are anti and shot myself in foot,no harm doing a bit of homework and hearing opinions of like minded people where better than here.

One thing I remember him saying was, even though he wasn't a hunting man, was that he didn't agree with interfering with peoples way of life.

Like I say, a good man and probably too good for a politician, but as a terrierman I'm glad we had him.

Vote right I'm looking at houses out there, it's no good jumping out of the frying pan and in to the fire.

I hope I'm right in saying this but the last Irish government that meddled in fieldsports lost the next election.

I'm not saying that was why they lost but some politicians think it was a big factor.

It cost two local politicians around me their seats. In the middle of a recession !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even SF turned around on their stance on hunting when they realised it wouldn't help their cause to step on the hunting fraternity's toes.

The Green Party the following year ,after being part of a coalition government, had NO seats whatsoever.

This year the Greens are making another go of things and they've already said they're going to ban hunting if they get in power, that's not going to happen.

If today's politicians have any brains they wont meddle again and as far as I know it's not big on anyones agenda especially as the latest Animal Health and Welfare bill is only a couple of years old and is fairly fieldsports friendly.

One of our local sinn fein representatives is an avid shooting man and was canvassing with some cronies and I asked him his opinion on his party frowning upon hunting and he was stuck to the spot and all walked away mumbling. He later stated at a game council meeting that hunting foxes and digging might be banned as a gesture to save pheasant hunting and fishing. Backstabber.
